Apologies for the delay in announcing Septembers van of the month! I'm aware it is now October however i'm not actually entirely sure how we got to October!!! Better late than never though hey?
So here we are with September van of the month! We get so many entries every month but this one we came back to from a little while ago. There is no denying that there has been a lot of love and work gone into this van so we felt it should have it's time as our van of the month.
So it's over to Dean to give us a little insight into his van......
Hi guys,
This is my entry into van of the month.
The Velle is a 1996 2.4, we purchased it back in 2018 off its original owner and it had only covered 85k during its life.
The Velle was a clean original example but it was in need of some bodywork, so it was dispatched to Jamie and Tony at La Body repairs in Cheltenham where it was fitted with new front wings, a new front wheel arch and windscreen surround repair. At the same time it had a tailgate spoiler fitted which along with the roof was painted in VW Black magic. Whilst they were at it they also repainted the sections between each window in satin Black which looks so much better than a vinyl wrap.
Mechanically we have gone through it front to rear, it’s had new Brakes front and rear, new bushes, Gmax shocks along with 6” Faulkner springs with the front torsion bar adjusted to match. A new stainless steel exhaust from PPT followed along with the Dare F6 18” alloys. Other changes are the led rear lights, US spec front indicators and side bars.
It’s not quite finished yet and she’s due to have some further bodywork next year which will be followed by an interior retrim.
Prior to owning the Velle we had a T4 day van which was sold on to my brother. We purchased the Velle as we needed a van with extra seats for days out, holidays etc but originally intended to keep the Velle short term as we really weren't keen on the colour and planned to tidy it up and move on again but over time we have grown to love it and it’s now very much part of the family and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
So that's it for another month! Don't worry if you entered but didn't win this time, your entries will be counted for future months.
Want to see your van have a staring role on a new section of our blog?? Every month we will be doing a feature on one of your vans. This will be seen on our blog, social media channels and on the homepage of our website. Plus at the end of the year part of the VDUB Monkeys calendar!
